Beneath the noise of daily life lies a deeper, quieter intelligence - the wisdom of your body.
Designed for both beginners and experienced Focusers, the Inner Landscape series offers spacious time for fresh discovery in a friendly, non-judgmental setting.

Focusing and Companioning
Practicing together allows you to deepen your own self-awareness while offering your partner non-judgmental companionship. If you are an experienced Focuser, you can treat this as a regular session. If you are new or returning to the practice, I will guide you through the basics.
Learning
To support your inner journey we work with core Focusing concepts and practices including the felt-sense, Inner Relationship Focusing, self-in-presence and Wholebody Focusing.
Accompanying Journal
To enhance your reflections during and between our sessions, you will receive a downloadable 15-page journal to serve as a lasting reminder of your journey. There are spaces for personal notes to capture your reflections and insights, simple, jargon-free explanations of core Focusing ideas, and resource suggestions to support and further your learning.
Meet Paula
I am a BFA Recognised Teacher and mentor, as well as a BACP Accredited counsellor and
supervisor with 25 years of experience in the therapeutic field. Both personally and professionally, I find Focusing to be deeply enriching and healing, and sharing this practice with others brings me great pleasure. As a trainer, I enjoy creating a safe, contained, and welcoming space where you
can explore at your own pace.
Something rich opens up when we move our attention beneath everyday thoughts and feelings into the bodily landscape. Deep wisdom is held within the body; you can feel this quality in the moments when an inner experience takes on a physical presence. That tight grip of fear in your chest; the heavy feeling of dread in your stomach; a sudden, spacious lightness when you have expressed something important and feel truly heard, acknowledged, and accepted. In Focusing, we call this physical resonance the “felt-sense.”

Today we begin our journey, venturing into vague and unknown territory. A Focusing attunement and a guided meditation help you to feel inwardly safe and grounded. We travel far and wide, taking in the scenery and pausing at areas of interest. Afterwards, there is time to explore further with Focusing and Companioning. For those familiar with Focusing, this can be a regular session. If you are new to Focusing or would like some guidance, there will be an explanation and introductory Focusing exercise.

We return to the physical realm with a Wholebody Focusing meditation. Wholebody Focusing invites awareness of our whole self, supported by the environment. There is an opportunity to explore your connection with the environment and to see what happens when you express yourself freely with movement and sound, in ways that feel comfortable for you. There will be a creative exercise, Focusing and Companioning and time for discussion and sharing with each other in the group.

Today we travel deep into emotional realms to explore this rich area of your inner landscape. Emotions can feel like a storm that we either get swept up in or try to push away. Self-in-Presence is a safe and gentle way of being with our emotions. It creates an inner relationship where all feelings are welcomed just as they are, allowing intense emotions to naturally soften and shift. Later today, we come to an ending, with time to honour the ground that you have covered and share your experiences with the group.
With thanks for your kind words
“What a fabulous course this is! It has been such a wonderful journey for me, which has led to a much deeper understanding of myself. As a trainee psychotherapist it has improved my work with my clients, enabling me to be more present with my clients and work at a greater relational depth. Paula is a fantastic teacher, her teaching style is very engaging, gentle, easy and flows. She is wonderfully warm, friendly and candid, and has such a calming presence.”

"It is hard to put into words what I have gained through attending 'Focussing Skills' but I am aware of deep changes within myself, deeper acceptance of myself, and deeper understanding of myself. Foccusing, in itself, is not complex; learning how to navigate a way through a highly conditioned sense of self, is. Focussing has really supported me to do this. After completing level 2 I still believe there is so much to explore, and i am looking forward to eventualy working through practitioner levels so that I can fully integrate this way of working with others."

"I couldn’t imagine a more lovely way to train as a Focusing Practitioner than on Paula’s course! Everything about it is to be recommended – Paula and her gentle teaching and mentoring style, the organisation, structure and content of the course itself, with its mix of theory, experiential activities, attunements, sensing in and practical role-plays, and the small group size which makes for a safe, intimate space for exploration and discovery. It is a special experience and I don’t want the training to end!"

"This Focusing training is an excellent way of deepening one's connection to self and others and is structured in a beauifully simple way to allow that to happen."
Course participant, Introduction to Focusing, Level 1 2024
"Paula's method of teaching Focusing by modelling openness, presence and gentleness within a space where all we bring is accepted is a wonderful learning experience. It enables us to become both competent practitioners and developing self-awareness and presence in our own lives."
