Welcoming experienced and trainee counsellors

Supervision in Stanmore / Harrow and online

Individual Supervision

Supervision is a supportive relationship that enables you to meet the needs of your clients and supervisees whilst taking good care of yourself and increasing your confidence as a practitioner. You are welcome to contact me between sessions with supervisory related concerns.

I find that supervision is most effective when supervisor and supervisee have a trusting, warm and respectful relationship. This allows you to be self-reflective and to examine your work openly. We work collaboratively to explore anything that might prevent you from being empathic, genuine and non-judgmental. We also discuss counselling theory and how it relates to your practice.

I believe that a practitioner's capacity to be fully engaged and present depends upon their ability to recognise and own their feelings and attitudes toward others. Developing self-awareness involves exploring your emotional responses and reactions during our sessions. Together, we examine how your unique experiences and perspectives might affect your professional practice. Understanding your own processes allows you to respond more authentically.

Whether you are at the beginning of your counselling career or an established practitioner, I hope you will find that the supervision I offer is in tune with your level of understanding and experience whilst facilitating your professional development.

Supervision Includes:

  • Exploring your work with clients and supervisees
  • Tending to your own self care
  • Developing self-awareness, self-trust and self-acceptance
  • Considering relevant reading and workshops
  • Having reviews and discussing assessments required by your college
  • Working towards BACP Accreditation
  • Supporting your work and private practice

Group Supervision

"Supervision can be a place where a living profession breathes and learns."

~ Hawkins & Shohet

Group supervision is an opportunity for participants to share and learn from each other whilst benefiting from the supervisor’s input. The group experience is a chance to discover more about yourself both personally and professionally. A supervision group is usually for up to four participants.

I am a BACP Accredited supervisor for individuals and groups, You are welcome to contact me to discuss how we might work together.
